We are continuing our series of events exploring hidden gems right in our own backyard with a trip to Worcester, MA! First up, the day will commence with an enchanting trip to the Worcester Art Museum, home to the magnificent Arms and Armor Galleries, formerly housed at the Higgins Armory Museum. We'll enjoy a guided tour of the museum, followed by plenty of free time to explore its outstanding collections and special exhibits at your own pace.
After our museum visit, we'll head to Grill on the Hill for a delicious lunch and a chance to relax and catch up with friends. Before leaving Worcester, we'll make a stop at Bancroft Tower, perched atop Prospect Hill—another fascinating Worcester landmark with spectacular views.
The non-refundable fee is $67 per person and includes:
- Parking at MIT Cambridge campus or Lincoln Laboratory
- Round-trip transportation
- Admission to the Worcester Art Museum
- Lunch at Grill on the Hill
Prefer to drive yourself? The fee is $50 per person without transportation. Guests are always welcome! To reserve your spot, please register by August 28.
Itinerary
7:45 am: We’ll board the Yankee Line coach and depart from MIT Cambridge campus, Westgate Parking Lot, 282 Vassar St., Cambridge. Complimentary parking.
8:45 am: We’ll pick up our friends at Lincoln Laboratory, 244 Wood St., Lexington. Complimentary parking is available in the Visitors Lot.
10:00 am - 11:00 am: Guided tour of the Worcester Art Museum.
11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Enjoy the museum and its fantastic exhibits on your own.
1:15 pm - 2:30 pm: Relax and recharge during lunch at Grill on the Hill. Choose from a range of delicious entrees. All lunch selections include a side salad, dessert, soft drinks, coffee, and tea.
- Chicken Marsala, served with oven roasted potatoes and honey glazed carrots
- Baked Haddock (can be prepared gluten-free), served with oven roasted potatoes and honey glazed carrots
- Vegetarian Risotto
- Vegan Entree (Chef's Choice)
2:45 pm - 3:15 pm: We’ll make a brief stop at the Bancroft Tower for a stretch, beautiful views, and picture taking.
4:30 pm: Return to Lincoln Laboratory.
5:15 pm: Return to MIT Cambridge campus.
