Memoir Group Shares Their Stories

Lucy purchases a watermelon on her trip through the USSR.

The Nita Regnier Memoir Writing Group debuted their stories on November 18, 2020 via Zoom. The recording of this event can be seen on YouTube by clicking here.Viewers enjoyed five engaging stories from Nancy DuVergne Smith’s memories of her last volunteer gig at MIT's Commencement before retirement in 2018 to Lucy Wilhelm’s 1972 trip through the Iron Curtain.

Our thanks go out to the writers for sharing their stories: Thom Opar, Lincoln Laboratory (pictured above in 1974); Lucy Wilhelm, Division of Comparative Medicine; Nancy DuVergne Smith, Alumni Association; David Kettner, Lincoln Laboratory; and Larry Retman Young, Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Special thanks to Daphne Strassmann for leading the class, and to our graphic designer Victor Park assembling the 2020-21 memoir publication.

We are looking forward to our 2021-22 publication this Fall, and we will be happy to welcome our current class of writers to share their stories once more!
