About

Association of MIT Retirees

In the early 1990's, Senior Vice President Bill Dickson tasked Walter Milne, Assistant to the Chairman and the President, and Dotty Bowe, Associate Director of Financial Aid, to explore opportunities for MIT retirees to remain engaged with the Institute and connected to friends and colleagues. Committed to this endeavor, Walter and Dotty established the Association of MIT Retirees in 1994, a thriving organization that forges an enduring connection between MIT retirees and the Institute.

Currently 750 members strong, the Association continues to grow, thanks to your continued support which is essential to its success. We strive to be an active component of the MIT family through programs and events that are interesting, social, and fun.

The Association is led by a volunteer advisory committee composed of retirees from campus and Lincoln Laboratory, and receives support from retiree volunteers and the MIT Community Services Office. We are recruiting new committee members and welcome speaking with you about joining our leadership team.
