
On April 21st, DAPER welcomed members of the Association of MIT Retirees to Rec Fest '23! W shared a day of fun activity on campus with instructors from MIT Recreation, and learned the importance of staying fit as we age!
Schedule of Events, Friday, April 21st – MIT Retiree Rec Fest ‘23
- 11am – 11:45am Low Impact – Barre Fitness Class in the DuPont Tclub
- Class Description: Barre is a low-impact, mid-level intensity workout method primarily featuring elements from Pilates, yoga, and strength training, though it also has components of ballet, and mobility work. Barre can help you build muscular endurance, improve your posture, and make the movements you perform in your daily life less taxing.
- 11:45am – 1pm Lunch in the Z Center – Media Room
- Description: Join us for a healthy lunch and a short presentation, beginning around 12:15pm, on the benefits of low impact training and tips to staying active as we age, presented by: MIT Recreation Staff
- 1pm – 2pm Open Rec: Indoor Golf Simulator and Intro to Pickleball *both drop in*
- Golf – Closest to the Pin in the DuPont – Rudovsky Indoor Golf Range: Learn basic stance and swing technique tips and then put them into practice! Our Golf Pro will guide you through the fundamentals and then facilitate a fun game on the golf simulator range. Let's see who can chip their ball closest to the pin! We have clubs and balls available.
- Intro to Pickleball: New to pickleball? We have the session for you. Build confidence, learn the basics and prepare for social play! Join the craze and have a blast! We will have paddles and balls available.
